About Us
“I’ve never seen a pink persimmon” said our Mom.
Why Pink Persimmon? Because the colors are gorgeous together. Bright Pink and Vibrant Persimmon Orange. They are a great combination of energy, warmth and love. All things that inspire our designs and kits. Our mom has a huge persimmon tree in her backyard and we have grown up on persimmon cookies and our favorite persimmon pudding (only on special winter holidays) served with an oh-so-delicious hard sauce. This amazing fruit can inspire a beautiful centerpiece and then when gushy soft with ripeness, they become amazing desserts.
We are two sisters who believe in each other, and believe in the ability of all people to create beautiful art. Judi Andersen brings a background in textile, interior and font design to the creative side of Pink Persimmon. All of the stamps are her original hand-drawn images and many of the project kits will be born from her love of textiles and knitting. Darcy McNairy brings her web design and organizational skills to run the business side of Pink Persimmon. We want to make sure that our customers enjoy their shopping experience with us and will come to love these products as much as we do!
Watch for our project kits coming soon. We are putting together kits for paper crafters, some special one-of-a-kind kits for our sewing friends and maybe even something for those of you who are into the knitting craze. Be sure to sign up for our newsletter so you'll know when the newests kits and stamps are available.
We hope that Judi’s beautiful stamp designs will inspire you to design your own masterpiece, or maybe just create a special gift tag. We’d love to see the results of your “inspiration”. Send us a photo of your finished layout, card or project and it may end up in our gallery where you’ll find ideas and motivation to get creative! Each month we’ll pick one of our gallery submissions to receive a free stamp set.
Mom's Persimmon Cookie Recipe:
1 cup raisins
1 cup nuts
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup persimmon pulp
1 stick butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg beaten
Chop nuts and raisins and mix with the flour, salt and spices. Dissolve the baking soda into the pulp (this will change the consistency of the pulp to a soft gelatin). Cream the butter and sugar together, beat in the egg, then the pulp mixture. Stir in the flour mixture. Drop by spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake approx. 15 min. in a 350°F oven.
